I’ve mentioned before that both of these books have been more of a calling than anything else. For those of you who have been around a while, you know the story behind MANUP. I had gotten signals for over a year that perhaps I should write a book. Then over several months, words started popping into my head, I jotted them down and realized it was a table of contents.
After writing MANUP, I really never thought there was another book lurking inside of me. However, over several years a series of concepts started coming together. But still there was no real drive or calling to write. About April of last year, I woke up at about 4 in the morning with a single word flashing in my mind. WRITE. I took this as the call. It was time for me to begin collecting all of those thoughts and putting STEPUP together.
All along, I’ve had the feeling that this wasn’t really my effort. It was something that I was supposed to do … it was a calling. This week that feeling has been fully reinforced. At the prompting of my pastor, several weeks ago, I submitted STEPUP to the Chancery of the Diocese of Knoxville for a formal review.
Thursday morning, I received a call from the Diocese letting me know that STEPUP has been granted the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur from the Bishop of Knoxville. This is truly a blessing and for me a reinforcement that this book isn’t about my will … it is about following His call!
