When I first started talking about spiritual parenthood and discipleship, I really didn’t know what a disciple was! I started praying about discipleship and about what I needed in order to become a stronger disciple. It has literally taken me years, lots of books, audio programs, conferences and discussions to really discern the difference between a follower of Christ and a disciple of Christ! There are lots of people, theologians and pastors that talk about discipleship, but so often the language they use doesn’t really resonate. STEPUP is an opportunity! It is an opportunity to learn, in language we can all understand. It is an opportunity to learn what we already know about being a disciple. Its an opportunity to learn what we don’t know about being a disciple. And it is an opportunity to reflect on how to grow to be the disciple, the spiritual parent that God desires us to be. God has placed us each here for a specific reason and to affect specific people. The path to discipleship is unique for each of us, but if we understand the concepts we can better prepare to become the Disciple God wants us to be!
