There is a difference between being a follower of Christ and a Disciple of Christ. In Jesus day, disciples were called to imitate their rabbi in every detail. Interestingly, Jesus’ last command wasn’t go make followers … He said “Go Make Disciples.” Several years ago I heard Curtis Martin speak. Curtis is one of the founders of FOCUS (the Fellowship of Catholic University Students.) During his talk, Curtis shared, “Jesus didn’t come down from heaven to get himself back to heaven, He came to take us with him.” That means that if we are to imitate Christ, to be his disciples, we must be willing to do our part to bring others to heaven with us. The reason behind STEPUP! is to explain the process of discipleship in a language we can all understand! The STEPUP! release is getting closer and closer.
